Our Story
A living royal farm and sanctuary since 1796.
Two centuries in the making
A Royal Gift
Maharao Raja Shreeji Umaid Singhji Hada, the 18th ruler of Bundi State, gifted this beautiful lakefront estate to his son, Maharaja Sardar Singhji of Dugari.
The Aaraamgaha
This was once an Aaraamgaha — the royal rest house — a place of quiet retreat for the ruling family of Dugari.
The Gates Open
Maharaja Rajendra Singhji Hada of Dugari, the present owner of the estate, decided to convert, reserve, and promote this place into a majestic camping site for travelers visiting Bundi for heritage, cultural, and wildlife tourism.
A Promise to the Wild
The royal family of Dugari has worked toward tiger preservation — monitoring, researching, and creating awareness of these majestic cats in the Ramgarh Vishdhari Tiger Reserve — for generations.
Umaid Bagh Is Founded
Their sons, Yuvraj Shivam Singh Dugari and Kunwar Shantanu Singh Dugari, have continued this legacy of conservation through the creation of Umaid Bagh — introducing proven sustainable tourism models through ethically sound luxury boutique experiences in pristine wilderness, benefiting local communities and preserving indigenous wildlife.
Escape to the Banks of Jait Sagar Lake
Swap the noise of modern life for the timeless rhythm of nature. Nestled on the water’s edge and framed on three sides by the ancient Aravalli hills, our estate offers a beautiful space to slow down. Spend your days observing rare migratory birds, wandering through the lush living farm, or simply letting the stillness of the landscape restore your senses.
